Watch as Rangers starlet Kyle Glasgow scores first professional goal on loan

Kyle Glasgow marked another early milestone in his senior development by scoring for Alloa Athletic just days after completing his loan move from Rangers.

The 16-year-old midfielder, who only joined the League One side last week as part of the co-operation agreement between the clubs, found the net in the League Cup group stage clash against Falkirk at the Indodrill Stadium.

Glasgow had already featured off the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Edinburgh City and started in the penalty shootout victory over Stranraer. He was handed another start against Premiership opposition and repaid that faith with a composed finish shortly after the hour mark.

Scott Tanser had given Falkirk the lead six minutes before the break, but Glasgow levelled in the 65th minute when he rifled a low effort home from the edge of the box.

Alloa went on to win the tie on penalties, with fellow Rangers youngster Max Cameron, 17, also involved.

Falkirk goalkeeper Nicky Hogarth will feel he could have done better with the equaliser, a view echoed by his manager after the match.

John McGlynn said: “It was a shot at goal that Nicky Hogarth maybe should’ve saved.”

Glasgow’s rapid progress has been closely monitored by Rangers supporters, with the teenager having featured for the club’s Under-19s at just 15. He trained regularly with the first team last season and impressed at the Alkass International Cup in Qatar.

He was also close to making a senior appearance in the Scottish Cup against Annan, but SFA regulations prevented his inclusion before his 16th birthday.
