Passengers on board a United Airlines flight from Edinburgh to New York were treated to a bonnie rendition of "Scotland the Brave" - 35,000 feet up the air.
There was a round of applause for Ross OC Jennings, otherwise known as The First Piper whose quest is has become to play the bagpipes in every country around the world.
For Ross, the flight marked the journey to his 100th country, the USA, where he will take part in NYC Tartan Week.
He said: "Can't think of a better way to kick off my 100th country, the USA, then being able to pipe on a United Airlines flight at 35,000 feet! I've piped in some unusual places around the world, but this quite literally has topped them all!"
New innovation in inflight entertainment
Commenting on this unique flight, Bob Schumacher, United Airlines Managing Director Sales U.K. and Ireland, said: "We are proud to have served Edinburgh for 15 years and fly The First Piper, Ross OC Jennings, from Edinburgh to New York.
