Watch as passenger on board Easyjet plane at Glasgow Airport escorted off by police for refusing to wear mask

A passenger on board an Easyjet flight from London Luton that was boarded by police on arrival at Glasgow Airport after a fellow passenger refused to wear a mask has said how others on board felt "scared and confused" by the incident and were worried the flight was going to turn back.

Officers were called to the plane due to the disruptive behaviour of the passenger, who also refused to abide by new rules stating that all passengers much wear a face mask while onboard.

The passenger in question was escorted off the plane in Glasgow alongside another companion - who acted in a "very aggressive" manner and took off his own mask and confronted airline staff.

Fellow passenger Gisela Martinez told Glasgow Live: "Just after take off, a woman was asked to wear a mask but was ignoring the airline staff. She was asked several times, but to no response.

"However the man she was with was aggressively arguing back - to the point where he took off his mask, stood up and confronted staff down the front of the plane.

"He was very aggressive in his attitude to the point that a few of us felt the flight might be turned back to Luton. However staff continued to remind him that this was part of the terms he had agreed to when purchasing his ticket and he sat down - unhappy, but compliant from then on".

And Gisela, who lives in Glasgow and co-runs the Scaretroducing Podcast, said that the disturbance left herself and her fellow passengers alarmed.

"We were all kind of scared and confused by the situation," she added.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that one man was issued with a recorded police warning in connection with a disturbance during the flight on an Easyjet flight from London Luton to Glasgow on Sunday August 30."
