Watch as middle-lane hogger trundles along at 45mph on motorway - before being pulled over

This is the moment police followed and stopped a driver hogging the middle lane of the motorway and doing just 45mph.

Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) tweeted out the video of the incident on Sunday night on the motorway near Cannock, reports Birmingham Live.

The driver was stopped by police after dawdling along the empty motorway (CMPG)

The driver is seen dawdling along the empty motorway, leaving one driver with no choice but to undertake in order to leave at the next exit.

At one point, the Staffordshire Police Dogs Unit drives past with blue lights, but the driver still fails to move into the left hand lane.

CMPG patrol officers followed the car before stopping the driver and advising her about lane and speed discipline.

The new driving laws coming in during 2020

CMPG tweeted: "Last night on the M6 Toll at Norton Canes a driver was stopped and reported for due care after being captured travelling in lane two at 45mph when lane one was empty.

"Watch as her actions forced another road user to undertake in order to leave the motorway at the next exit.

CMPG then tweeted: "Even @StaffsDogs passing on blues was not enough gentle persuasion to make the driver realise they should have been in lane one.

"Driver was spoken to at Norton Canes and advised about lane and speed discipline.”
