Watch as Liverpool players treat Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to happy birthday sing-song

Liverpool players were in fine voice as they treated Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to a happy birthday sing-song during training on Saturday morning.

A video of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and his first team squad wishing the Kop icon many happy returns was posted to the official Liverpool FC Twitter account.

Gerrard, who turns 40 today, clearly appreciated the gesture, posting "Wow, thanks so much @LiverpoolFC. What a club" to his own Instagram account shortly afterwards.

The Rangers manager will no doubt be busy preparing ahead of the start of the new Scottish Premiership campaign, which is currently scheduled for the weekend of August 1 and 2. The Scottish football joint response group announced on Friday that they would be lifting the football ban next month, meaning training could resume for top-flight clubs on June 11.

A number of people posted their own messages to Gerrard to mark the big day, including Rangers themselves – who shared an image of the Ibrox boss holding a red, white and blue scarf aloft.
