Watch as Kevin Nisbet volley helps Hibs turn round Betfred Cup clash at Cove Rangers

Kevin Nisbet's stunning volley saw Hibernian come from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Cove Rangers at the Balmoral Stadium as they made it two wins from two in the Betfred Cup group stage.

The striker fired home his seventh goal since arriving at the Leith outfit from Dunfermline Athletic in the summer to turn the tide for the men in green and white after Daniel Higgins' superbly struck opener for the hosts.

Jamie Gullan made an instant impact from the bench when he levelled proceedings, tapping in from a Martin Boyle pull back after a neat team move.

But it was Nisbet who took the acclaim as he extended his purple patch in front of goal.

Jack Ross had every reason to be unhappy with his side's first half display with Christian Doidge missing a glaring opportunity before Higgins struck.

The midfielder made no mistake when presented with an opportunity 20 yards from goal after David Gray had fouled Jamie Masson, curling his effort over the wall and into the bottom corner.

The hosts could have been further ahead by the interval, however failed to make their chance count and were punished after the break.

Gullan had not scored for Hibs since the Scottish Cup quarter-final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February, but broke that profligate streak in front of goal with the equaliser.

Cove had chances to get back into the game, but the League One outfit were playing their first competitive fixture in over seven months and Nisbet completed the turnaround in spectacular fashion.

The striker got across his marker to guide a Melker Hallberg cross over the grasping Stuart McKenzie to hand Hibs their second Betfred Cup victory in four days.

The Easter Road side travel to face Forfar on Tuesday before rounding off their Group B campaign with a home tie against Dundee in November.
