Enthusiastic Edinburgh locals took part in a surprise bagpipe dance party on the Royal Mile at the weekend.
Videos shared on Snapchat show a musician playing to the Old Town crowd as a circle forms in front of him for people to dance into.

Children and older people are seen dancing alongside one another as renditions of 'Auld Lang Syne' and other traditional pipe music ring out on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
More videos are taken showing the extent of the crowd forming around the piper, who has already made quite the quota in tips from the adoring crowd.
Many people can be seen clapping along and filming the ongoing dancing, as others joined in and partied late on Saturday evening, which was New Year's Day in the capital.
