Watch as Glasgow firefighters rescue dog stuck on roof of Castlemilk flats

The heart-stopping moment firefighters tried desperately to save a dog trapped on a roof in Castlemilk has been caught on video.

Emergency services were called to Glenacre Terrace on Monday afternoon after the pet managed to find its way on the roof of the three-storey property.

It could be heard crying while crews tried to entice it towards them and back onto safe ground.

But scared and unsure, the dog took a while to warm to the firefighters and backed away from their grip while desperately trying not to fall.

One firefighter can be seen leaning out of a skylight window on the roof while the other looks on from another window.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live that firefighters successfully managed to get the dog down to safety.

Let's hope the dog has had its fill of adventures after today's antics!
