Watch as George Ezra has thousands singing at M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool

Radio City Hits Live burst back into the M&S Arena last night - and it certainly didn’t disappoint the thousands in the audience.

Pop music lovers certainly got their money’s worth, as fans were able to see eight stars for the price of one, including The Voice coach Anne-Marie and multi-platinum selling artist George Ezra, who is about to head out on a UK tour.

The event brings together a handful of the most in demand voices that are topping the UK radio charts right now - and it is a sight to see. The night felt much like a festival - without the chance of getting caught in the rain, of course - with the audience buzzing with excitement and a whole host of artists ready to take to the stage.

The night kicked off with Clean Bandit, who had the whole crowd dancing to their hits, including Rather Be. Perhaps among the most touching moments of the evening, it was revealed that the event was a ‘Homecoming gig’ of sorts, as two members of the band are from Merseyside - and their nan was in the crowd to see them.

Fans loved every second of the set, giving it their all as they danced away, perhaps most of all when the band was joined on stage by a surprise guest - former Love Island star and singer Wes Nelson. It was easy to tell we were in for a big night.

Up next was Joel Corry, who kept up the pace and performed hits such as Lonely, with special guest Harlee. James Bay, who arrived on stage next, stunned the crowd with Let It Go and Hold Back The River.

This set the night on a path that would lead to a number of stand out moments. Highlights included Jax Jones’s This Is Real and Tom Walker’s Just You and I, both of which had the crowd of thousands passionately joining in as the euphoria of the show took hold of those both on stage and in the audience.

Becky Hill performed hits such as My Heart Goes and her new single Remember, which had the crowd hooked and desperate for more. She took over the stage completely and made the whole room feel like they were at a festival.

In one of the longest - but still not long enough in my opinion - sets of the evening, Anne-Marie commanded the M&S Bank Arena stage, with her very talented backing dancers. Between phenomenal performances of her hits such as 2002, Ciao Adios and Friends, which all had the crowd singing along, the singer and The Voice coach stopped to say hello and even had the crowd join in wishing a young girl in the audience a happy birthday.

To end the night with a bang, BRIT award winner George Ezra arrived on stage to thunderous applause and deafening screams. This was clearly the moment thousands of fans had been waiting for.

Opening with Anyone For You, from his new album Gold Rush Kid and his hit single Budapest, he had the crowd enthralled as they sang - and screamed - the lyrics back to him. Clearly enjoying himself too, George danced along with fans and at one point was overwhelmed by the love being shown, announcing that he and his band hadn’t “played in a room this big since 2019”.

He performed another new song, Green Green Grass, which stunned the audience and geared them up for what was to come. The one we’d all been waiting for.

It was, of course, Shotgun, George Ezra’s first number one song in the UK, that sent the crowd wild. Fans sang along to Shotgun like an anthem, never missing a beat and with such power it was actually breathtaking.

It was a night full of magic, laughter, dancing and some phenomenal music. The atmosphere was electric and I wish I could do it all over again tonight.
