Watch as firefighters tackle blaze which engulfed several cars in Midlothian

A fire which broke out at a car repair centre in Midlothian led to several cars being engulfed in flames.

The blaze started around 2am at DLG Auto Services in Bonnyrigg, with fire crews from Dalkeith and Liberton called to the scene.

Video of the fire posted on Facebook by Chris Black showed a large fire taking hold of the vehicles behind a fence at the garage, with a column of smoke rising above.

A loud bang can be heard at one point, and firefighters had to cut through a lock to get access to the garage.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews were on the scene at Cockpen Road until just before 4am.

She said: "We were in attendance, three cars were alight. Two high-pressure hose reels were used to extinguish the flames."

DLG Auto Services specialise in accident repairs.
