Cyriel Dessers scored the winning goal for Panathinaikos in his first start for his new club.
The former Rangers striker completed a £3.5m plus add-ons transfer move to Greece on deadline day.
Dessers made his debut for Panathinaikos in a 3-2 loss against AE Kifisias, playing the final 23 minutes as he came on as a second-half substitute.

But, Panathinaikos bounced back to claim victory in their first match of the Kypello Elladas cup competition with Dessers scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Kallithea.
Tete surged down the right flank and raced into the box before sliding across goal for Dessers to apply a simple finish from close range.
After leaving Rangers, Dessers posted an emotional farewell to the club, stating: "It was an absolute honour to wear the nr. 9 at Rangers, something that will fill me with pride for the rest of my life.

"I wish everybody at Rangers all the best, take good care of the club, you guys are so important.
"I want to thank the fans that supported me. If you can push and support the players, big things will be within reach for this beautiful club 💙"
On joining his new club, Dessers said: "I am very happy with the career I have had so far. I have been the top scorer three times, in Scotland, the Netherlands and Belgium. I won two cups, in Scotland and Belgium.
"But for me, the most important thing is winning the title because that is missing from my CV and it is one of the reasons why I signed for Panathinaikos.
"It will fill the last gap in my trophy cabinet and if that happens with a big club like Panathinaikos, it will be a dream come true."
