Watch as Edinburgh's Hogmanay debut part two of virtual 'Fare Well' celebration

Edinburgh's Hogmanay have uploaded part two of their three day drone extravaganza, and it was just as spectacular as part one.

Last night the audience was taken on an adventure through the Scottish Highlands, but tonight the incredible drone display took place in Edinburgh.

The latest segment in the series featured images of the word "WE" lit up above the famous Edinburgh skyline, as well as the 'banana flats' in Leith.

Part two of 'Fare Well' featured words from renowned actor David Tennant alongside Siobhan Redmond, Lorne MacFadyen, Scots Makar and Jackie Kay.

Edinburgh's Hogmanay described part two of the event, penning: "The Fare Well story continues in Part 2 over the skies of Edinburgh.

"This is the first drone display of this magnitude in the UK, Fare Well is our innovative response on how to close the door on 2020 and celebrate the start of 2021, melding together one of the world’s new technologies: drones with one of the oldest art forms: poetry.

"Whilst part one of Fare Well looked at the year that’s gone by, part two turns to look at us today and to give thanks for the many acts of community and kindness displayed by so many across the country. Jackie Kay’s narrative takes an optimistic tone, reflecting on the good of the human spirit and the sense of togetherness that has emerged from 2020."

We can't wait for part three of Edinburgh's virtual Hogmanay, which you can watch here.
