Watch as Edinburgh locals spot Queen’s helicopter hovering over the capital

Edinburgh locals managed to catch a glimpse of the Queen's helicopter hovering in clear blue capital skies on Tuesday (June 30).

Her Majesty is currently residing at her official residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse where she will be staying for the week.

Amazed onlookers watched as the enormous chopper floated near Arthur’s Seat before landing close to the entrance of the palace.

Another Edinburgh local captured a huge police presence in Edinburgh yesterday as the Monarch was escorted around Edinburgh while being followed by multiple cops on bikes.

It comes as The Queen was spotted sitting down with Nicola Sturgeon as part of her Royal visit to Scotland.

Both the First Minister and Her Majesty wore light blue at the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh.

The Queen was all smiles as she chatted with Nicola Sturgeon before also meeting Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, Alison Johnstone.

The Monarch was also spotted in Cumbernauld with her grandson The Duke of Cambridge for a tour of the AG Barr's factory to see how Scotland’s iconic Irn Bru soft drink is made.

Prince William was seen enjoying a sip of the bright orange liquid as the Royal grandmother and grandson were given an overview of the history of the company.

Her Majesty is expected to be joined by her daughter, the Princess Royal today further engagements.
