Watch as Dublin band Fontaines D.C rock Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show as bass player wears Mayo GAA tracksuit ahead of New York Game

There has been massive hype around Dublin based rockers, Fontaines D.C since the release of their album, Dogrel, at the start of April and last night, they launched a very impressive music career in the USA.

They were tipped by music critics in the UK as 'ones to watch' for 2019 and last night, their name was planted in the heads of thousands of Americans who tuned into the famous The Tonight Show.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the 'postpunkers' played two songs on the show, 'Boys In The Better Land' and 'Liberty Belle' which was posted online after the show.

They nailed both performances with one review by Stereogum saying that "they ripped both [songs], riffing hard and looking intense and generally seeming like they were too cool to breathe the same air as Jimmy Fallon.

Another review by The Rolling Stones said that the band sounded even better live than they did on record.

And if that's not enough to convince you, NME gave their debut album the full 10/10.

The band is made up by Grian Chatten, Conor Deegan III, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley and Tom Coll

Although the band are self-described Dubliners, 2/5 of the band are from Mayo.

Bassist, Conor Deegan and drummer Tom Coll come from Castlebar, hence the Mayo GAA trackies that are being fashioned by Deegan.

The Tonight Show is recorded in New York and as most GAA heads will know, Mayo play their first Connacht Championship game here on Sunday.

The lads might be able to swing free tickets after such a savage appearance.
