Watch as daredevil walks along slackline suspended 20 ft above River Kelvin

People enjoying a morning stroll or jog along the River Kelvin in the west end of Glasgow were in for a surprise recently - thanks the sight of one local daredevil using a slackline to walk across the river.

Adrenaline junkie Zigi Russell-Smith showed off his balancing skills above the river along from the Botanic Gardens, on a line line suspended across the entire 24.4 metre span of 118 year-old Kirklee Bridge some 20ft above the river.

With the line tied to the polished pink granite balustrades at either side of bridge on the popular walking and running route, Zigi was secured on to it to stop him from falling in to the water below.

It's not the first time the youngster has caught the attention of the public. Back in October of 2017 we reported how Zigi entertained and bemused locals in Kelvingrove Park after he set up his 70-metre slackline along 'cider hill'.

Take a look for yourself at the video his River Kelvin exploits, which was filmed by a friend using a drone.

And he has done some impressive challenges over the years including a cliff to cliff slackline walk with a harness.
