Watch as couple dance Gay Gordons near Scots loch while stuck in traffic jam

What do you do when you're stuck in a traffic jam ? Listen to the radio, read the newspaper or have a bite to eat?

For one man and women they decided to get out in the sun and perform a traditional Scottish dance to the delight of their fellow commuters.

A video of the pair, filmed near Loch Lochy, Lochaber, posted on the Scotland from the Roadside Facebook page has since been shared and liked hundreds of times.

The man, believed to be a tour guide, appears to be walking the woman through the dance many of us in Scotland learned at school.

Despite being stuck in traffic, for around an hour and a half, spirits were high as the couple danced in a lay-by close to the loch.

The Gay Gordons is popular at ceilidhs and other social events around Scotland. The dance involves every couple dancing the same steps while in a circle.

The name of the routine alludes from the Scottish army regiment, the Gordon Highlanders .

People commented on the Facebook post reliving their memories of the Gay Gordons.

Ashley Maclennan said the dancing brought her back to Christmas.

Elaine Mclachlan believed it was a great place to learn the traditional dance.

Elaine said she was taught the Gay Gordons by her gran (Facebook)

She wrote: "Seems a good time to learn the Gay Gordon's Ceidlh dance.

"My gran taught me as a kid and I got sooooooo dizzy!!"
