Watch as Co Down boy posts incredible keepy-up score during lockdown

A nine-year-old Co Down boy has been 'keeping up' his football skills during lockdown.

Jay Reid from Bangor had been playing for Glentoran 2011s before the coronavirus pandemic saw all football suspended in Northern Ireland.

Not wanting to lose his touch, the Crawfordsburn Primary School pupil has been practising his keepy-ups.

And he recently posted an incredible personal best of 1,079.

Jay - who has been part of the Swansea City Academy, Rangers Advanced Centre in Belfast - attends the Pro 2 Be Academy.

His dream is to one day play for Liverpool and Northern Ireland.

"Jay has been constantly practising his keepy-ups during lockdown," said mum Sarah.

"He set a new personal best of 1,079 keepy-ups and is really proud of his new record.

"But he doesn't want to stop there, he is determined to beat that.

"There is obviously no football happening at the minute, but it hasn't stopped Jay from practising and enjoying the game he loves."
