Watch as brazen thief steals 15 feet of decking from restaurant in broad daylight

CCTV has captured the moment a brazen thief stole 15ft-long decking boards from a Bolton restaurant in broad daylight.

The incident happened at The Retreat on Chorley New Road on Saturday, May 16.

A 29-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the offence. Police say he has also been arrested on suspicion of theft in relation to a separate incident where garden turf was stolen.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of a Silver Toyota Aygo vehicle showing a registration plate MV58ZFJ is asked to contact police by calling 101.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers from the Bolton West neighbourhood team have today arrested a 29-year-old male in connection with a theft of decking at the The Retreat on Chorley New Road in Bolton on Saturday.

“The male has also been arrested on suspicion of theft in relation to a separate incident where garden turf was stolen.

“If you have any information in relation to these incidents or in relation to the whereabouts of a vehicle which was used, a Silver Toyota Aygo showing a reg number of MV58ZFJ please contact us in confidence.”
