Watch as 'brainless yob' pelts cyclist with an egg from passing Vauxha Corsa

This video captures the shocking moment a cyclist was attacked in a 'drive-by egging'.

The footage shows the hooded thug leaning out of a black Vauxhall Corsa and launching an egg at the rider's head.

BirminghamLive reports David Harvey was hit by the egg as he cycled on Trouse Lane, in Wednesbury, in the West Midlands.

The video, which can viewed above has been shared widely online, also captures the suspect smiling with pride following the unprovoked attack at around 5.30am on Wednesday, May 1.

Despite being hit with the egg, Mr Harvey has seen the light-hearted side of incident.

He said: “While cycling to work at 5.30am, through Wednesbury, these clowns thought it would be funny to wake me up by throwing an egg at me.

“It was a cracking shot that scrambled my senses for a moment. They even passed me twice more after to revel in their triumphant success.

“Please feel free to share to inform others. I guess today that the yolk was on me.”

Many have taken to social media to condemn the pair for their dangerous stunt.

“They could seriously have caused an accident,” one said. “The thick f****** need locking up.”

“What f****** idiots,” another added. “Some might say it's just an harmless egg but it could have caused you to swerve and crash – brainless morons with nothing better to do.”

And a third wrote: “Looks like you’ll have the final laugh, mate.

“1. For assaulting you and you have clear evidence of this.

“2. Speeding?

“3. You’re supposed to give a cyclist 2m passing distance, and that clearly wasn’t 2m.

“Let’s just hope the police do something and get these little scumbags. Hope you’re on the up, mate.”
