Watch as apparent Traveller feud sees caravan rammed and attacked at Ayrshire retail park

Shock footage has emerged of a caravan being targeted as part of an apparent co-ordinated attack in Kilmarnock.

Chaotic scenes show a number of vehicles swarming round the mobile home at Queen's Drive Retail Park car park next to Smyths toy store.

One car is seen ramming the caravan while other hooded figures use weapons to attack it and another motor.

Screams can be heard from people inside as the glass shatters on the mobile home before the half-a-dozen perpetrators flee the scene.

The attack is seemingly linked to an ongoing Traveller feud between the McPhees and the McGinleys, according to the footage posted online.

The minute-long clip posted on the 'Gypsy Rose Travellers Videos' YouTube channel is titled 'Scottish travellers the Mcphee's break-up mcginleys caravans' has been viewed more than 10,000 times.

It's understood the brutal attack took place on Tuesday evening with police called to the scene the next morning.

It's also believed that police are aware of the footage that has been circulated of the attack.

The shock attack led to the retail car park next to Asda and Smyths toy store being locked down on Wednesday.

Cops say they responded to a report for a concern for the occupants of a caravan but have confirmed there has been no reports of serious injury.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: "Officers were in attendance at Queen's Drive Retail Park, Kilmarnock on Wednesday, May 19, conducting enquiries into a report of concern for the occupants of a caravan situated within the car park area.

"There have been no reports of any serious injury and enquiries into the full circumstances remain ongoing."
