This is the shocking moment that two security guards are forced to pin down a 'drunken' man at a Dublin City Centre Luas stop who allegedly was wielding broken bottles and causing havoc on a tram.
The man was arrested by Gardai who came to the aid of two Luas staff who held the man on the ground while waiting for backup at 6pm on Thursday at Jervis Street.
He can be heard pleading with the security: "Please, please, I've been caught twice. Please boys, let me go.
"I promise I will be normal, just let me go. I'm not going to be stupid."
But despite his best efforts to escape the situation unscathed, the man is informed multiple times that the "Gardai have been called and are on their way".
The frightened passenger who shared the exclusive footage with Dublin Live claimed he was terrified at the drunk man's behaviour.
He said: "I was on the same Luas into the city centre. He was drunk and he was smashing drink bottles and looked very dangerous and aggressive.
"He started on the security staff on the Luas too and he was eventually taken off at Jervis Street and detained on the ground."
A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "We arrested a male in his 30s in relation to a public order incident which occurred on Upper Abbey Street, Dublin on the 7 May at approximately 6:00pm.
She added: "No further information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing."
