Watch as adorable Edinburgh dog goes for motorbike ride with owner through city

An adventurous Edinburgh dog was spotted enjoying a refreshing motorbike ride together with its owner on one fine and sunny day out in the capital's city centre.

In the video shared with Edinburgh Live, the dog is filmed sitting in the bike driver's backpack with its head out to appreciate the view as they stop at a traffic light.

The short clip was shot at the B700 traffic lights where it crosses the A700 Lothian Road to flow into the city's Bread Street.

While waiting for the green light to turn, the fluffy passenger can be seen curiously looking around before the motorbike took off up Baker Street and towards Edinburgh Castle.

The peculiar - and inventive - way of travelling with a dog resonated with another similar occasion when an alpaca was spotted touring Edinburgh streets in a black car.

Back in October of 2021, a local captured on camera the furry farm animal sticking its head out of the back window of the Vauxhall Zafira in the same manner as a dog would do.

Edinburgh locals were left stunned as they witnessed the alpaca being given a tour of the city in the back of the car, with many sharing their excitement - and even jealousy - when commenting under the post with photos of the incident.

While those pets have clearly enjoyed their human-guided outings, there was once a brave highlander coo, who decided to take on a journey all by itself, stunning readers from all over Scotland - and even down the borders, too.

In June of 2022, the adorable runaway cow was spotted on CCTV on the platform at Pollokshaws West in Glasgow. Sharing the footage, Scotrail joked: "Just waiting on the next train to Cowdenbeef...

"The CCTV team provided the goods this evening! P.S is that not the cutest cow you've ever seen?"
