Sometimes if there isn’t a hole in the middle of the line, you just have to go up and over. That’s exactly what rookie RB Antonio Gibson did on the opening drive of the second half, completing Washington’s six-play, 70-yard scoring drive that cut the lead to 10, trailing 20-10.
It marked the fifth touchdown of Gibson’s career and helped him bounce back from a frustrating fumble on the first offensive play of the game. While the first half was extremely ugly, Washington looked great coming out of the gates in the second half and will need to play a great game from here on out to keep it going.
