Watch angry crowd challenge 'hateful' homophobic preacher in Leeds city centre as he demands they 'repent'

A preacher angered crowds in Leeds as he preached homophobic views in the city centre and told people to 'repent'.

In a video circulating on Facebook, he tells the crowd they can be saved if they “turn from your wicked ways” and “put your trust in God”.

He is also heard saying: “You need to learn to use your bodies properly.”

Earlier in the video, he said: “Everybody can be saved if they humble themselves and repent and turn from your wicked ways. If you humble yourself and repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ you shall be saved.”

The crowd can be heard shouting back at him, with someone saying "God thinks you need to crawl back into whatever hole you came out of."

Cries of 'you're hateful' can also be heard as the crowd refused to accept his preaching.

This comes after a preacher was slammed for saying "homosexuality is an abomination" last month.

West Yorkshire Police led the man away from Briggate after various preachers used a microphone to spout "awful" views criticising the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month.

In a clip that was posted by a member of the public who witnessed the spat, a man with a microphone says: "Does God accept the LGBT community? Listen, homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God.

"It says in the bible if a man lies with a man the way a man would lie with a woman it is an abomination."

He went on to claim: "The bible says that lesbianism is [an] unnatural and vile passion. The bible says that homosexuals shall not inherit the kingdom of God, so God does not accept homosexuality."

Leeds Live approached West Yorkshire Police to see if they were aware of the latest video. They are yet to respond.
