WATCH: Andy Reid assesses Brett Favre, jokes that ‘he still could play’

Brett Favre’s potential un-retirement (again) is a long-running joke that his former quarterback coach is making sure keeps on giving this week.

Andy Reid had the former Packers and Vikings quarterback visit his practices earlier this week and assessed the 49-year-old’s status by saying, “Looks like he still could play. Let’s start that rumor,” according to Chiefs beat reporter Brooke Pryor.

Of course, the maybe-true-rumor about Favre coming out of retirement to play (a second time) has become a running joke — especially after his social media was hacked in June and a post went up saying that he planned to play again.

But Reid making the joke makes it even better.
