WATCH: Andrew Luck will continue to miss practice with a strained left calf

Andrew Luck will continue to miss practice with a strained left calf, according to head coach Frank Reich.

Luck participated in three of the team’s first four practices but did not take a snap in full-team drills, after sitting out off-season workouts with the injury.

Reich explained on a conference call Friday that he expects Luck to be out until at least Wednesday as the quarterback still “is continuing to progress with his strength, which is awesome. But there still is a degree of pain that he is not comfortable with. Obviously, we are not comfortable with putting him out there.”

Jacoby Brissett is taking the first-team reps in the meantime and played the majority of the first quarter in Thursday’s 24-16 loss to the Bills in the preseason opener. Reich is staying optimistic about Luck and is not yet saying whether he believes the team will have to activate another quarterback for the team’s season-opener Sept. 8.
