I don't know if you know this, but the same folks who own Lamborghini also own Ducati. They also own Bentley and Bugatti, as well as Audi, and if you've guessed it's Volkswagen, then you'd be right. It's a match made in heaven, as folks at Borgo Panigale fit right in with the kings of speed that are those luxury marques within VW.
And over the years, the 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled siblings have played nice with one another, often debuting bespoke special editions that coincide with each other's launch. Think back to the Bentley and Ducati Diavel collaboration of last year, or the Panigale V4 and the Lamborghini Revuelto. Yet, whenever they tend to meet, it's more amenable than not, which means we don't get to hear or see the two machines fighting, as we'd all likely want them to do.
Thankfully, that's not the case with the video below, which sees Lamborghini bring its new Temerario to face off against Ducati's Panigale V4 superbike in one epic drag race for the ages.
Speakers up, folks, you're going to want to bask in the aural glory of this race. Your coworkers may not be so happy, though.
Ducati's V4 has a staggering 216 horsepower derived from its V4 architecture, while the Lamborghini Temerario drops a jaw-dropping 907 ponies to all four wheels thanks to a twin-turbocharged V8. That, on paper, would likely have you thinking that the Lamborghini is likely to be the victor.
But you're forgetting about weight.
See, that new prancing bull is a porker of a machine, tipping the scales at 3,726 pounds. The Ducati, on the other hand, may as well weigh nothing compared to the Lambo given its 417-pound wet weight. And speaking as someone who's ridden the original Panigale V4, as someone who still longingly thinks about the noise and power that machine produces, my money is on the motorcycle. Even with all those horses pumping out of the Lamborghini, you just can't compete with that little lithe red machine.
So click the video above and get ready to wish it was far longer than it is, as you'll just want it to keep going and going.
