Friday’s event was held for a second consecutive year at The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston, owned by Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta.
Frequent topics included the integration of new guard Russell Westbrook; Houston’s championship aspirations and where the team stands entering the 2019-20 NBA season; the leadership of James Harden; the contract status of head coach Mike D’Antoni; offseason priorities for each player; expected roles on the team; and much more.
In this order, the 11 separate sessions featured GM Daryl Morey and head coach Mike D’Antoni; Fertitta and CEO Tad Brown; center Clint Capela; guard Eric Gordon; guard Austin Rivers; Harden; center Tyson Chandler; forward Danuel House Jr.; swingman Gerald Green; forward P.J. Tucker; and Westbrook.
In all, Friday’s launch event lasted more than two hours. Training camp officially begins for the Rockets on Saturday at Toyota Center.
