Green Bay Packers rookie safety Darnell Savage scored three touchdowns during his four-year career at Maryland.
That’s three more touchdowns than he allowed in coverage over his final two seasons.
Here’s a look at all three return scores from the Packers’ first-round pick:
Interception return vs. Temple (2018)
The closing burst here is ridiculous. He creates an easy pick six while handling the slot receiver in off coverage. When Savage can read and react this quickly, he creates special plays.
Interception return vs. Towson (2017)
Awesome range here from a single-high position. The quarterback hesitated only briefly, but it gave Savage more than enough time to move to his left and intercept the overthrown deep ball. From there, it’s all Savage weaving down the sideline and into the end zone.
Punt block return vs. Indiana (2017)
That closing burst can pay off on special teams, too. Here he blows past the blocker, blocks the punt, picks it up and scores the easy touchdown. The big play helped turn the game around for Maryland.
