The two-year and counting relationship between Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez seems more like a fairy tale than it ever has. MLB Network’s Intentional Talk shared an interview from 1998 in which A-Rod is asked who his dream date is with.
Without pause, Rodriguez responds: “Jennifer Lopez. Hopefully, you can find me a date with her.” It took nearly 20 years for the athlete to get an opportunity to sit down with the singer/dancer, and when they finally did go out in 2017… Rodriguez wasn’t even sure it was a date.
A-Rod famously sent a text to Lopez from the bathroom, and Lopez confirmed that she was, in fact, single during that first date, and the rest is basically chronicled in pop culture history. J-Lo has commented about how nervous her now-fiance was during the first date… and no wonder, he’d waited about two decades for it!
