Video of Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) smiling in response to grave concerns over the impact of President Donald Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill" is drawing attention as the legislation moves closer to final approval.
In the video, posted by The Debt Collective activist group, Britt is asked if she plans to vote no on the sweeping reconciliation package.
Ran into Senator Katie Britt and asked her if she would vote no on the reconciliation bill — which will cut Medicaid and re-segregate higher education.

"A lot of people are going to die and it's going to be because you voted for it," an activist warns as Britt walks into an elevator. She offers no response, other than smiling.
As the door begins to close, she continues to smile as she's asked, "Senator, do you hear me? Just a blank stare?"
The bill — officially titled the One Big Beautiful Bill — includes deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance, an extension of Trump's 2017 tax cuts, and provisions that critics warn could worsen racial inequality in higher education by scaling back federal diversity and inclusion funding.
The Senate passed the bill on Tuesday by a single vote, with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie. The House has begun debating the bill's final form with a Trump-imposed goal of presenting it to the president by July 4.
