The Boston Celtics laid an egg for their first meeting of the year with the Washington Wizards, the Celtics losing 116 – 107 to a disappointed crowd at TD Garden due to their poor cohesion and level of effort.
But veteran big man Al Horford was by no means part of that problem on Wednesday, vocally calling out coverages to his teammates and staying active and alert when on the floor. And it paid off, with the Florida product putting up 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal, and a block in 26 minutes of game time against the Wiz with only 2 personal fouls and a single turnover.
While it might not have gone the way we would hope, let’s take a moment to appreciate Horford for helping to keep it close, and for setting an example his teammates would do well for themselves to emulate.
