Watch adorable moment Nathan Carter surprises young fan at Fleadh Cheoil in Drogheda, Co Louth

This is the heartwarming moment country singer Nathan Carter surprised a young fan at the Fleadh Cheoil festival.

The 29-year-old crooner surprised Oscar Everitt while he was performing at the traditional music festival which is being held in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The Liverpool native, who is playing at the Fleadh for the first time, told the Irish Mirror on Thursday about his plans to link up with Oscar at the festival.

He said: "The atmosphere has been incredible in the town.

"It’s unreal to see all the young kids on the street playing, singing and dancing. It’s really really cool.

"There’s young lad who actually sings a few of my songs on the street, I think you shared a video of him on Facebook, so I’m hoping to try and meet him later on.

"Hopefully I can surprise him on the street."

Nathan sees the Fleadh as a great place for young musicians to showcase their talents - and he feels the right town is hosting it.

He added: "Young kids like that, you know talented young musicians and dancers, it’s just great to see them getting the chance to show their talents, and I think Drogheda is a great town for it.

"The pubs are all packed and the venues are great, and everyone is very friendly so it seems to be a great spot.

"I haven’t been at the Fleadh for 10 years or so but it’s been great.

"The atmosphere is brilliant, and everything is so close. It’s great that you can walk from The Dome to the town centre in a few minutes. It’s very handy.

"I started off playing trad. It was the first music I got into and then it kind of moved on to country.

"But I love both types of music, people probably think it’s a bit random me playing at the Fleadh if they don’t know my history. But I started off doing this stuff, so I guess that’s what they’re looking at by bringing me back to my roots and bringing me back to what I started out doing."
