Watch: Adorable moment Irish boy surprised on his birthday by Elmo and friends

Thomas Smith Harrison had some very special visitors at his home in Derrybeg Drive last week as he was celebrating his 14th birthday.

Thomas was due to be celebrating his birthday in Salou at a concert with his favorite TV character Elmo but due to Covid-19 restrictions the family were unable to travel.

His mother Carmel Smith told the Irish Mirror that Thomas was 'so sad' to be missing out on his trip to see the Seasame Street character

For his birthday the community decided to band together to try and make the young man's day special.

The community food bank volunteers, local musician Damien Quinn and even the  local fire brigade paid a visit to Thomas along with Elmo, Barney and Big Bird.

They brought him cake, sang some songs and even got in a few photos to give Thomas a day to remember.

The smile on his face is something to behold as he thanks everyone for making his day.
