WATCH: Adorable duck family lost in Portmarnock taken quack to where they belong

This adorable duck family were lost in Portmarnock village when they eventually waddled into the home of some very good Samaritans.

Michael O'Hanlon spotted the confused little group arrive in his back garden earlier today.

With the mama duck looking a bit distressed, the dad of three and grandfather of seven decided to spring into action and take her and her eight ducklings to a safer destination.

Despite being swooped at by the protective mother duck as he made the 250m trek from his home to Portmarnock Estuary, the big-hearted grandfather of seven carried out his rescue mission to perfection.

Thanks to Michael and his daughter Cliodna Gilroy the little flock were scooped up in a bin and released at the edge of the scenic estuary - quack where they belong!

Well done Michael and Cliodna and thank you for capturing this lovely moment.
