The Bengals return to action Sunday following their bye week as the NFL’s last remaining winless team. According to head coach Zac Taylor, though, the team will have two weapons new to this season on its offense.
Taylor told reporters Wednesday that veteran wide receiver A.J. Green will play for the first time this year as Cincinnati (0-8) hosts the Ravens (6-2).
Oddly enough, just after the coach confirmed to the media that the seven-time pro bowl wide receiver would be full-go in practice and on the field for Week 10, The Athletic reported that Green was not at practice.
The 31-year-old suffered torn ligaments in his ankle during the first day of training camp, causing him to be a non-factor for the team to this point.
Green’s return would benefit rookie quarterback Ryan Finley, who the Bengals announced last week that they plan to start in place of veteran Andy Dalton.
