Footage has emerged of the moment a giant rat had to be chased out of a McDonald's restaurant in central Milton Keynes.
The rat was found in the McDonald’s on Midsummer Arcade on Sunday, according to OneMK.
The video shows staff chasing the rat across the floor of the restaurant with a broom, desperately trying to get it off the premises.
The rat sprints from one side of the restaurant to the other and dives behind some rubbish bags, before its runs back out and is swiftly swept out into the street by a member of staff.
The person filming the incident then runs out into the street to continue filming the rat, which continues along the pavement.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said after the incident: “Cleanliness and hygiene are a top priority for us. Immediately after this incident, in which the pest entered the restaurant from the street, we arranged for our independent pest prevention company, Ecolab, to visit. They attended the same day and confirmed there is no evidence of any issues within our restaurant.
“The restaurant team carry out regular litter patrols around the area and will further increase these in light of this and continue to work with our contractors on regular inspections.”
