One of Michael Phelps’ (several) world records fell Wednesday in South Korea.
Kristof Milak, a 19-year-old swimmer from Hungary, bested Phelps’ 200 butterfly record set in 2009 by .78 seconds, clocking in at 1:50.73 at the FINA World Championships. (For the uninitiated, .78 is a huge margin for a race of that length.)
Watch the final stretch of Milak’s race here:
Phelps owned the 200 fly world record for the last 18 years, first setting it in 2001 at 15 years old and then breaking his own mark seven times. Phelps still holds world records in the 100 fly and 400 individual medley and is part of three world-record relay teams.
