WATCH: 3 Saints defensive linemen team up to pick off Tom Brady

Here’s something you don’t see everyday: a game of hot potato between the New Orleans Saints defensive line and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, resulting in the first career interception for Saints defensive lineman David Onyemata. It’s been a heck of a season for Onyemata, the former Canadian college football player who signed a big contract extension with the Saints early this year. And so far, he’s earned all of it.

Brady’s pass was initially deflected into the air by defensive end Marcus Davenport; his teammate Cameron Jordan was lined up next to him as a defensive tackle in a pass-rush package, anchored by Onyemata in the next spot over. Jordan was able to get a paw in the air to keep the ball alive, which fell into Onyemata’s lap for a turnover.

It’s just that easy, apparently. Brady has thrown just five interceptions this year and three of them have gone to Saints defenders (safety Marcus Williams and cornerback Janoris Jenkins each intercepted him back in Week 1). Jenkins nearly had another pick on Sunday night off of an underthrown pass, which was broken up at the last second by Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown. Maybe Brady is still shaken by playing a former New York Giants defender.
