WATCH: 2 Chainz reacts to Lonzo Ball rapping on ‘The Cosign’ with Genius

Lonzo Ball has established himself as one of the better rappers in the NBA over the past few years, but what do professional rappers think of his music? Thanks to Genius, we now have a better idea.

During an episode of a Genius web series titled “The Cosign,” Atlanta-born rapper and NBA fanatic 2 Chainz gave his thoughts on some of the best rappers in the league including Damian Lillard, or Dame D.O.L.L.A., Marcus Smart, Iman Shumpert, Marvin Bagley III and, of course, Lonzo Ball, a.k.a. ZO2.

Specifically, Genius had 2 Chainz react to the music video Lonzo and his family made for their Facebook show “Ball In the Family.” Here’s what he had to say about it:

“Hey, man, I’m all for marketing, I’m all for ownership, I’m all for packaging it up and selling it, and this looks like what the Ball family is doing. It’s a family-oriented video, it talks about their brand. I’m sure it’s about getting people to actually check out the brand. I already knew Zo rapped, he has brothers in there. It look like they havin’ fun, I don’t have any problem with it. It’s not going to play on the radio or in the club, but I think it has a purpose.”

It’s true that a lot of Lonzo’s music and lyrics have to do with his family’s brand, the Big Baller Brand, but he also has a handful of songs that are more in line with what’s popular like his new song “Swerve” with Lance Stephenson, a.k.a. Born Ready. He also his 17-track mixtape “Born 2 Ball,” which he released last year.

He might not be on 2 Chainz’ level as a rapper, but he’s certainly not the worst. The same can be said about 2 Chainz and his basketball skills.

2 Chainz new album, “Rap or Go to the League” is available everywhere music is streamed.
