WATCH - 17-year-old Evan Ferguson wins Brighton's goal of the month for rocket against Everton

Ireland under-21 striker Evan Ferguson has been awarded Brighton & Hove Albion's November goal of the month award for a stunning solo effort against Everton under-23s.

The former Bohemians striker provided a moment of individual magic to weave between two would-be tacklers and send a rocket into the top corner in the Premier League 2 clash.

17-year-old Ferguson showed balance and fleet of foot belying his tall stature before sending an unstoppable shot past Everton stopper Harry Tyrer.

The 78th-minute strike wasn't enough to save the Seagulls from defeat as they trailed 2-0 at the time thanks to early goals from Lewis Dobbin and Reece Welch.

Ferguson, who made his Bohs debut at 14 in a friendly draw with Chelsea, has been touted for promotion to the Brighton first team sooner rather than later due to his under-23 form.

It was the Bettystown native's sixth goal of the season, form that saw him make his senior debut against Cardiff in the EFL Cup in August.

The former St Kevin's Boys youth, who made five senior appearances for Bohs, netted his first senior goal in a Football League Trophy win over Northampton Town last month.
