It’s always unsettling when something inexplicable happens to you. But when something bizarre happens to your child? That’s a whole other fear brought to life.
The internet loves discussing the supernatural and paranormal—especially if someone experiences one of these phenomena personally.
On TikTok, many users have shared their stories of close encounters with what they believe to be the “great beyond.” Sometimes, these are minor frights that can be brushed aside. Other times, however, these encounters leave people so spooked that they change their lives forever.
One user on TikTok may be having the latter experience. In a video with over 667,000 views, user Misty Huron (@chaoswithmisty) shows something that appeared on her baby monitor that she just can’t explain.
What’s Going On With This Baby Monitor?
In her video, Huron appears distraught.
“Oh my god, you guys. Oh my god,” she starts. “So I’ve been recording the baby monitor anytime the sound or the motion detection goes off so that I can show my husband because he’s on the road, and I wanted to send him all this crazy s— that’s been going on. Watch this video and tell me what you see.”
The video then shows footage from a baby monitor. There is a bunk bed visible in the footage.
After a few seconds, a shadow moves on top of the bunk bed, then appears to run away.
“I literally ran up there so fast,” Huron says. “There’s nothing in her room. I brought her downstairs. The motion and sound detectors are still going on. I’m freaking out right now.”
What Did the Baby Monitor Show On The Bunk Bed?
There are a few explanations for what happened in this footage.
The first explanation is that this is entirely staged. Other videos on Huron’s channel show additional evidence of a “haunting” that would be easy to fake, such as a blender that supposedly flew across the room and a conversation about strange occurrences between Huron, her daughter, and her partner. A skeptic may look at this and question its authenticity.
What Else Could Be Happening?
The second explanation is that this is real, but explainable.
The video simply shows a shadow on the top bunk. However, that does not mean that the thing casting that shadow is on the top bunk.
Whatever is casting the shadow could be either next to the camera and moving because of a draft, or it could be in the crib itself. For example, there could be another light source that the child is accidentally obscuring through their natural movements.
There is also a chance that there’s another living being in the room, though not necessarily a person. This could be a big animal like a mouse or rat, or a small animal like a fly that simply got in the way of a light source and caused a massive shadow.

Commenters Are Freaked Out
In the comments section, users seemed convinced that there was something supernatural or paranormal at play here.
“And your husband isn’t home?! Nope, I’d be somewhere else. Lol that’s a no from me,” said a user.
“Okay. I do see the top shadow figure. But i was more focused on the orbs around your baby. Baby is protected,” offered another.
“I threw ours away I would hear someone humming a lullaby and growling she went in the bed with me and it went into the garbage,” claimed a third.
