Emergency services were called to Woods Waste in Flyde, near Blackpool, earlier this afternoon, with the man being pronounced dead at the scene soon after.

When contacted by The Mirror, a representative of the business, who said that Woods Waste is a "small company," added that "it's not been a good day."

The woman also said that the police were still at the site at around 4 pm.

Lancashire Constabulary said it was reported that a man working at the site had become trapped under a lorry. His age and identity have not been revealed at this stage.

On their site, Woods Waste is called "an independently owned and managed business."

Their services include skip hire and waste management solutions and there are facilities onsite for all kinds of waste tipping.

The company also does work with breaking down stone and Andrew Raynor-Porter, Company Director, revealed in a YouTube video that they have a fleet of huge machines.

The Mirror has contacted HSE, who are part of a joint investigation into the incident, for comment.
