Rushcliffe Borough Council’s waste and recycling depot is set to move ahead of plans to build a new housing development on the site.
The council's Waste and Recycling2go teams have moved from the Abbey Road depot in West Bridgford after being based there for more than four decades.
From Monday (May 13) the service will move to the Eastcroft depot close to London Road in Nottingham.
The council said residents will see no change in services to grey, blue and green bin collections.
The authority has run its waste operations from Abbey Road since 1976 and has now relocated due to plans to redevelop the site for housing.

It has submitted a planning application for 76 houses on the site, of which 30 percent will be affordable, and is set to be determined later this year.
The council’s executive manager for neighbourhoods, Dave Banks, said: “This is a significant day for the team with over 80 staff operating from a different site from Monday.
“We have so many valued colleagues who work with us to deliver such a valuable service some of whom have been with us for over 25 years and the positivity everyone has shown has been very encouraging.
“We’re keen to stress this will not be a shared service with Nottingham City Council, it is simply a good opportunity to be based close to the incinerator where the grey bin waste is converted to energy and where our vehicles are serviced.
“The move works for both partners and residents will see no change as we continue to deliver a great service.”
The transition to the new site will continue in the coming weeks with grounds maintenance and street cleansing contractors Streetwise Environmental Ltd continuing to use the Abbey Road facility until further notice.
