Washington ties NY Giants for 1st place in NFC East with upset over undefeated Steelers

We all marveled at what the New York Giants did on Sunday afternoon, going on the road to beat the Seattle Seahawks and earn the top spot in the NFC East, with a clear shot at the playoffs.

Washington saw that and said ‘Hold my beer.’

Ron Rivera and his team went into Pittsburgh to face the undefeated Steelers on Monday night, and they came away with a comeback victory that left the NFL world stunned. Trailing by 14 points in the first half, it seemed that Washington had no chance to win, but the defense stepped up in the second half and gave up just 3 points for the rest of the game, allowing Alex Smith to lead a comeback on offense and go away with a 23-17 victory.

With the win, Washington is now tied for 1st place in the NFC East with a 5-7 record. The Giants hold a tiebreaker over them should it come down to that in the division, but the NFC East playoff race just became very, very real once again.
