Washington Sundar suffers another injury

MUMBAI: Having missed out on plenty of cricket since last year due to a hand injury and Covid-19, off-spinning allrounder Washington Sundar, set to make his international comeback in the upcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe, has suffered another injury.

On Wednesday, Sundar fell on his left shoulder while fielding and had to leave the field while playing a Royal London Cup game at Old Trafford for Lancashire against Worcestershire.

Lancashire Cricket tweeted: "@Sundarwashi5 has left the field after receiving treatment on his left shoulder following a heavy landing. No breakthroughs with the ball just yet. 27-0 (8) #RedRoseTogether."

Sundar is a part of the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team which plays three ODIs in Zimbabwe on August 18, 20 and 22. After a successful rehabilitation period at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, The offie has been a stellar performer for Lancashire this season.
