Washington Football Team running back Derrius Guice turned himself in Friday to face domestic-violence charges.
The count of strangulation is a felony.
Guice has hired Peter D. Greenspun, a prominent criminal attorney in Northern Virginia whose past clients include D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad and sportscaster Marv Albert. Greenspun, who was seen entering the jail shortly after Guice’s arrest, declined to comment as he left.
Guice was a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of LSU — but missed his entire rookie season due to an ACL tear in the preseason.
His 2019 was also plagued with knee injuries — he was limited to five games and only rushed for 245 yards.
