The Washington Post's managing editor, Bob Kaiser, realised as early as August 1992 that his newspaper would need to go online, the paper has revealed. An article marking the tenth anniversary of washingtonpost.com tells how Kaiser wrote a memo while on a flight home from an Apple-organised conference in Japan which proposed that the Washington Post should prepare for an electronic newspaper. It came to fruition three years later. Now that's a genuine case of prescience. Hats off to Bob. (Via washingtonpost.com)
