Charles Ingram's infamous appearance on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has got the nation talking agan thanks to ITV's infectious new drama Quiz.
The three part series - starring Michael Sheen as host Chris Tarrant and Matthew Macfadyen as contestant Ingram - details the 'coughing majors' spectacular triumph on the show and crushing downfall as he was found guilty of cheating his way to the top.
The 2001 episode remains one of the most controversial in quiz show history - but interestingly, it was never aired on ITV.
After production staff became alerted to suspicions about coughing noises in the studio as Charles played the game some swift decisions were made.

In a Millionaire first, Charles' episode - which was filmed over two days owing to time constraints - was pulled from the TV schedule.
His winning appearance was due to be shown to viewers between September 15 and 18 but Celador decided to drop the broadcast as a police investigation got underway.
Owing to the severity of the accusations levelled at Charles, his wife Diana and their accomplice Tecwen Wittock, the footage was instead handed over to the courts.

The Ingrams and Wittock were later found guilty of deception at Southward Crown Court.
Many viewers may feel as though they have seen the now infamaous coughing episode as ITV broadcast a documentary exposing the scandal weeks after the 2003 court case.
Millionaire: A Major Fraud was part of a special edition of Tonight with Trevor McDonald. It was a ratings hit with 17million viewers tuning at the peak to watch the drama unfold.

ITV2 then chose to broadcast the scrapped episode after - a decision that came under scrutiny from culture minister Kim Howells.
Howells claimed ITV should have made a 'moral judgement' about whether to give any more publicity to the scandal.
While Charles' original episode was pulled, Tecwen Whittock's appearance - that was filmed immediately after -was shown by ITV in 2001.
Whittock had been in the studio as a fastest finger first contestant as Charles took centre stage and followed him to the chair straight after.

The lecturer made it to the £8000 question but crashed out after losing two life lines and came away with £1000.
With the exception of special episodes, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is not filmed live.
Originally, pre recorded shows were broadcast on successive evenings for around ten days, before ITV modified its broadcast schedule in autumn 2000 to air it within a primetime slot on Saturday evenings, with occasional broadcasts on Tuesday evenings.
