Warzone Season 5 update brings a new round of weapon balancing and gameplay adjustments. The M15 Mod 0, AN-94, Sturmwolf 45, and VST receive notable buffs, while the AK-27, Carbon 57, MXR-17, X9 Maverick, and Dravec 45 are hit with notable nerfs.

The update also rebalances vehicle durability, improves respawn positioning, and tweaks Resurgence loot and cash distribution. Here’s a breakdown of the important changes included in the Warzone Season 5 patch notes.

Warzone Season 5 patch notes release date and time

The Warzone Season 5 update goes live on July 23 at 11am CT / 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST, bringing all weapon balance changes and gameplay updates to the battle royale. The patch also introduces the new Drone Labs POI on Verdansk and Juggernaut Armor suit.

For assault rifles, the M15 Mod 0 is one of the biggest winners in Season 5, receiving increased damage, longer effective range, and faster bullet velocity to improve its long-range performance. The AN-94 also gets stronger with higher minimum damage, a better headshot multiplier, and faster ADS speed, while the Voyak KT-3 benefits from reduced base recoil.

Several assault rifles are toned down. The MXR-17 loses damage, range, ADS speed, and bullet velocity. The AK-27 also sees reduced damage, range, and bullet velocity, while the X9 Maverick receives similar reductions alongside a slower ADS speed.

Turning to SMGs, the Sturmwolf 45 gains increased damage in its maximum and medium damage ranges, making it more competitive in close-quarters fights. The VST receives a slight range increase, while the REV 46 gets a higher headshot multiplier and faster ADS speed.

On the other hand, the Carbon 57 is heavily nerfed with reduced damage, shorter range, a lower headshot multiplier, and a new one-second delay on the Fabricator Mag attachment. The Dravec 45 also receives reductions to its damage and effective range.

Meanwhile, the Swordfish A1 marksman rifle is adjusted to reduce its burst effectiveness. Its base burst-fire delay is increased, while its MFS Penta Burst Mod Prestige Attachment now has more recoil, and provides a smaller burst-fire delay improvement.

Vehicle changes in Warzone Season 5

Vehicle durability is now adjusted in Warzone Season 5 based on squad size to better balance smaller playlists. Vehicles take approximately 30 percent more damage in Solos, 20 percent more in Duos, and 10 percent more in Trios, while Quads remain unchanged.

These damage changes are intended to reduce the dominance of vehicles in modes where fewer teammates are available to counter them, especially with the Armed JLTV arriving with the Drone Labs POI on Verdansk.

Other major gameplay changes in Warzone Season 5

Respawn positioning has been improved when no living squadmates are available, placing players more consistently near their previous death location instead of unfavorable areas.

Underwater combat has also been updated with standardized bullet behavior across weapon classes. Bullet travel distance has been increased for all weapon categories, bullet gravity underwater has been reduced, and engagements through water should now feel more predictable.

Resurgence matches receive additional economy and loot adjustments. Legendary Supply Boxes now drop Killstreaks less frequently to place greater emphasis on gunfights. Cash distribution has also been rebalanced, reducing the maximum cash from Grey and Blue Supply Boxes to $2,000 while increasing the maximum cash from Orange Supply Boxes to $5,000.

A slew of changes are also coming to Black Ops Royale, along with various bug fixes across playlists. You can visit the official Warzone Season 5 patch notes page for more details.
